Edwin Hosoomel is a Panama-born singer-songwriter. He has spent the last two decades living in Germany, calling Hamburg home.

His love for music began at the age of six, when he first got his hands on a record player. However, it wasn’t until his mid-twenties that his talent was “discovered” by friends who happened to hear him singing by chance.

Assigning a genre to Edwin’s work is no easy task due to his musical versatility. Armed with a loop device and a sultry voice, he guides listeners through classical emotions, experimental compositions, and the raw energy of independent music.

The result? A minimal, elegant, yet powerful sound.

In June 2019 Edwin was honored with the Hamburg Music Award “Krach & Getöse as “Best Newcomer 2019” presented by the Hamburg Music Institution RockCity e.V. and sponsored by the Haspa Musik Stiftung

He has performed at renowned festivals such as MS Dockville, Reeperbahn Festival, SKANDALØS Festival, Millerntor Gallery Festival, among others.

His debut album Lighthouse was selected as “Best of 2018” by Beehype. His second Album “Caribbean Diablo”, unfolds a beautiful combination of Latin and European sounds. He is currently working on his EP “I kissed a Computer and I liked it

His debut single, “Games in the Darkness,” explores intensity and power within an unequal relationship. It was released on March 3, 2017. A few weeks after its release, Edwin was chosen as "Best Newcomer" by the German radio station Detektor.FM and was recommended as a "Must-to-listen artist" by the French magazine Les Inrockuptibles. Following these accomplishments, Edwin released his second single “Doo Wop (That Thing)” as a tribute to the legendary Ms. Lauryn Hill.

So listen closely, stay still, breathe easy, and let him draw you into his soundscape for a ride you won’t want to miss. Enjoy!
